About Blackstone Architecture

Blackstone Architecture is a Colorado architecture firm designing custom homes, residential additions, multifamily, and select commercial projects. Based in the Denver area, we work throughout the Front Range and Colorado mountain communities on projects ranging from new homes and renovations to larger residential and commercial developments.

We approach each project by first understanding the property, the client’s goals, and the practical issues that will shape the design. Our work begin with feasibility and early concepts, and continues through architectural design, visualization, construction documents, and permitting.

Listen First. We start by understanding what the client wants to accomplish, how the building will be used, and the opportunities and constraints of the property.

Work Through the Details. Good architecture has to work on paper and in the field. We think through design, materials, constructability, code requirements, and coordination as the project develops.

Work as a Team. We believe the best projects come from good communication between the owner, architect, engineers, and builder. We encourage that collaboration early and throughout the design process.

What matters to us

We believe good architecture comes from listening carefully, solving problems thoughtfully, and paying attention to the details. Our goal is to give each client a building that works for them, responds to its surroundings, and is designed with construction in mind.

Just as important, we want clients to feel informed and involved throughout the process. Architecture is collaborative, and we believe the best results come from a strong working relationship between the client, architect, consultants, and builder.

However, after encountering unexpected foundation issues, we made the tough choice to rebuild. We have recently finished building a custom house designed by Blackstone Architecture, and we couldn't be more thrilled with our experience working with Paul Minor. His expertise, professionalism, and excellent service made the entire process enjoyable.

From the beginning of the project, Paul was incredibly professional and easy to work with. He brought a wealth of knowledge and a clear vision for space planning while also respecting our opinions. He listened to our ideas and successfully implemented all our requirements. As a result, we now enjoy living in a beautiful house with an efficient design that meets all our challenging needs.

This is our second project with Paul. He designed our first house about 15 years ago, and we were very impressed and satisfied with his work at that time. So when we needed a designer for our new house, we had no doubts about whom to call—Paul!

Experienced Colorado Residential and commercial Architects

At Blackstone Architecture, we believe a good working relationship starts with one single basic trait: listening. Before we begin designing, we want to understand how you live or work, what matters most to you, what you’re trying to accomplish, and where the challenges may be.

Experience is important, but so is understanding the client behind the project. We bring our knowledge of residential and commercial architecture to the table without assuming we already know the answer. Each property, program, budget, and client is different, and the design should reflect that.

That approach continues throughout the project. We communicate with clients, coordinate with consultants and builders, and use drawings and visualization to work through decisions before they become expensive decisions in the field.
